I just want to be prepared...

Dr Francisco is accredited as a Specialist Nephrologist (with admitting privileges) at multiple hospitals in Singapore. He also has his own private practice, "Francisco Kidney & Medical Centre". His main clinical interests are the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of several kidney disorders. He is also proficient in the management of patients on haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, kidney transplantation, as well as in the care of those patients opting for no dialysis or delaying the initiation of dialysis.

When your kidneys fail, your body is unable to naturally eliminate waste and unwanted water from your blood. Dialysis is an artificial way of removing these substances from the body. There are two different technologies (haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis) used to achieve this.

However, dialysis does not cure your kidney disease. You will need to have dialysis treatments for your whole life unless you are able to get a kidney transplant.

To learn more about kidney dialysis, join Dr Francisco, an experienced nephrologist as he hosts a QnA where he answers all your questions on kidney dialysis.

You can submit your questions to Dr Francisco by clicking on the following link: http://bit.ly/ask-dr-francisco. He will be answering all of them by, Thursday, 1 November, 2018.

Ask Dr Francisco about:

  • Hemodialysis/Peritoneal dialysis
  • Complications of dialysis
  • Cost of dialysis in Singapore
  • Should you delay the initiation of dialysis
  • Kidney dialysis VS kidney transplant

You will be notified by email once your question has been answered. If you have problems posting your question, please email your question to editor@human.com.sg.sg.
