About Dr Benjamin Yim

Dr. Benjamin Yim (Dr. Ben) is an aesthetic doctor in Singapore. He graduated from Monash University in 1994. His interest in dermatology was piqued by his own father, who has been a family physician for over 50 years now. Dr Ben acquired the Vasculite laser for IPL treatments in 2001. Her World magazine featured Dr. Ben in an article about IPL rejuvenation of the skin and his aesthetic practice took off from then. Since then, Dr Ben’s practice has grown bigger and he offers a comprehensive array of aesthetic treatments in his clinic in Forum. He remains committed to the practice of aesthetic medicine and is regarded by his peers as a key opinion leader in this field. He believes in continuous medical education and trains younger doctors for the Allergan Medical Institute and the Society of Aesthetic Medicine (Singapore). Dr. Ben has constantly ungraded his knowledge and skills in the field of medical aesthetics and dermatology.

There is darkening of the skin follicles in the armpit region. I would then ask if you remove the armpit hair regularly and whether you get irritation or infection of the follices of the skin after removal. If that is the case, it could be a case of darkening of the skin secondary to inflammat...

Permanent hair removal is done by a series of laser or light-based systems and electrolysis. Most of the clinics will offer the former services. Usually a series of 6-10 sessions are needed. The type of laser or light-based systems are important for different skin-typed patients. I like to use t...

1. Skin tightening energy devices like Thermage or Ulthera are a good start for male in their 40s who desire firmer skin with less wrinkles. This is a yearly affair with the doctor and has no downtime. Results of a slight lift can be seen immediately on completion of half face and the best result...
