More Information:

Dr. Anna Beth Seow completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with honours (BDS Hons) from one of the oldest, most established medical and dental Irish institutions in the world, University College Cork (UCC).

Mostly known as Dr Beth, many of her patients complement her for having minimal pain to painless dental procedures which has helped many patients overcome their prior dental phobias. This has led to a following of patients who are both comfortable in the dental chair and motivated to maintain good dental hygiene. Dr Beth believes in spending time with patients to get to know their needs and concerns in order to gain a healthy working relationship with the patient, so that she can help the patient in the best way possible.

On first visit, patients can expect to meet a young face with a keen listening ear and gentle touch. The patient’s comfort is the priority. After a routine but thorough examination the patient will be presented with all possibilities with a recommended course of treatment taking into account the needs of the patient and the professional considerations clearly thought through by Dr Beth.

Aiming to be a super all rounded general practitioner, Dr Beth is a certified Invisalign provider, proficient and certified in Crowns, Bridges, Oral Implantology and Surgery as well as facial aesthetic procedures including Botox and fillers (recognised by the Singapore Dental Council).

Being a firm advocate in ethical yet dynamic dentistry, Dr Beth regularly invests in workshops and courses to hone her dental skills in order to benefit patients with the latest improvements in Dentistry. Dr Beth also volunteers both locally and internationally, providing dental services pro bono. She is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the Aesthetic Dentistry Society of Singapore, and both Singapore and Irish Dental Associations. Being born and bred in Singapore with Peranakan roots, Dr Beth is fluent in English, Chinese and Malay.

What could be the cause of a clicking sound at my jaw?

Dear Janet, Clicking in the jaw is a sign of Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJD). Though the name sounds complex and scary, it is a common phenomena especially more so in young females such as yourself! TMJD is a complex subject in the dental world but cam be easily managed by looking out for...

What are the pros and cons of the different types of veneers?

Hello there! Having fillings done on the front teeth can be a tricky job at times though it seems like a straight forward job to most. A few things to take into consideration before deciding which is the best option for you would be: - How big are the fillings? - Are your teeth the same colour? Or i...

Is it compulsory for a dentist to inform the patient of the costs of a dental X-ray beforehand?

Hey Serena, It is not technically compulsory for the Dentist to inform the patient of X-ray prices. However to avoid misunderstandings or a shock when the bill comes, it would be a good idea as a patient to ask what the prices are before commencing any treatment. Pricelists are also available at the...

How can I tell if my wisdom tooth is causing a gum infection? (photo)

Hello Jermaine, Nice photograph! Based on the photograph, the 'small tooth' that you see is a budding / partially erupted wisdom tooth that looks like it is growing sideways. This is a very common problem with wisdom teeth because they are the last ones to erupt in the mouth which sometimes leads to...

What affects the cost of dental X-Rays in Singapore?

Hey Serena, To follow up on Dr Toh's detailed answer, in general here are the 5 types of dental xrays and general costs: 1. Periapical xrays ( these are the small ones to zoom in for one or two teeth, including root and surrounding bone) Price estimated at $ 25 - 50 (depends on clinic location) 2. B...

How much does two-implant overdenture cost in Singapore?

Dear Rider44, Most dental clinics that do implants would be able to facilitate an implant retained denture. As Dr JD has explained, cost of total treatment depends on how easy or difficult the implant placement would be in the lower jaw. For the implant surgery portion - this is claimable by medisav...

Why is there such a wide range of fees for dental implant surgery in Singapore?

Dear Lizzy, The price of dental implant is usually dependent on case complexity. These are some factors to determine how complex a case is: 1. Bone quality For implants to be stable, the bone has to be good. Like a plant in soil, the soil has to firm. So if the bone is insufficient, sometimes bone p...

Is there such a thing as a dental implant specialist in Singapore?

Hello Lizzy, I can understand why you would be concerned since losing a tooth / having a missing tooth is not a happy occasion most times. And now to follow, you are thinking about doing an implant surgery. But rest assured, it is not as scary as it seems. The general feeling of an implant is the sa...

Is it rude to request for a specific dentist every time if I have a dental phobia?

Dear Lalalal, The most important thing is your comfort. If you go to the same dentist in a group practice, it shows that you are comfortable and have a good working relationship with that dentist in particular. It is not rude especially if you have a dental phobia which your dentist already knows ab...
