Obstetrics & Gynaecology
In 1969, Dr Chen completed his obstetrics and gynaecology specialist degree at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in London. Since then, he has made a lot of contributions to the field of reproductive medicine. Dr Chen is highly credited for his pioneering work in IVF in Australia. Also, he helped the world's first IVF triplets. This was a year after he started IVF treatments in the year 1983. In fact, Dr Chen was also the first to successfully freeze a human egg which led to the launch of egg banks around the world. Then, he was able to successfully produce IVF sextuplets in the year of 1998 in Singapore.
As Dr Chen was always looking for ways to improve himself academically, this has also led him to main his leadership in the field. He graduated as a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2009 from the University of Queensland in Australia. Besides that, Dr Chen is serving as the Director of the Gleneagles IVF Centre. Due to his great expertise and many contributions, Dr Chen has been awarded many awards such as the prestigious Sir William Blair-Bell Memorial Lectureship, 2008 Spirit of Enterprise Award in Singapore, Key to the City of Manila, Philippines (2010), and Harvest of Endurance Scroll by the National Museum of Australia in Canberra.
