About Dr Edmond Phua

Dr Edmond Phua graduated with MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 2006. Subsequently, he underwent rotations in both medical and surgical departments in various public hospitals. Prior to joining private sector, he underwent several years of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care training. Afterwards, he obtained his postgraduate diploma in Family Medicine and is also an accredited Family Physician since 2011.

Dr Phua has been accredited in various aesthetic procedures such as fractional laser, skin rejuvenation and pigmentation laser, chemical peel, botox and filler injections by the Singapore Medical Council. During his time as a family physician in the private sector, he discovered his passion and interest in medical aesthetics after encountering numerous patients with skin problems. He saw how his patients feel more confident as their skin conditions improved with the combination of medical and aesthetic treatments. This spurred him to do medical aesthetics full time, and he has not looked back since.

In 2008, Dr Phua went on to obtain another postgraduate diploma in Practical Dermatology (Cardiff). He strongly believes that everyone deserves to look and feel good, and modern aesthetics can help to achieve that safely and comfortably. The best cosmetic outcome should be achieved through a holistic approach, using a combination of aesthetic procedures customized for each individual, together with a well-balanced diet and lifestyle.

What could cause a lack of improvement after TCA CROSS treatment? (photo)

10 days after TCA CROSS treatment is definitely too short a time to see significant improvement and you are right that you would need 4-8 weeks to appreciate the full effects as it takes time for the fibrosis and collagen stimulation to occur. Also, depending on the depth and type of your acne scars, it may take a few sessions before you can see significant improvement. Also, you may need other adjunct treatments like subcision to improve the deep and tethered scars, and fillers for the very atrophic ones.
