Obstetrics & Gynaecology
In 1996, Dr Foong Lian Cheun was awarded his Medical Doctorate from the University of London. This was after 2 years of unique original research on the causes as well as treatment of chronic pelvic pain in women. In the UK, the work was published in medical literature journals. It has proven to be the basis for much further research on this particular subject. Dr Foong has extensive training in both:
Apart from that, Dr Foong served as a Consultant and Assistant Professor at the National University Hospital in the year 1996. That was where he continued to develop his clinical practice in laparoscopic surgery and treatment of subfertility of all causes, especially the use of IVF. Also, he has a particular research interest in vascular abnormalities in women, notably in trying to determine the cause of certain conditions in pregnancy such as pre-eclampsia and in subfertile women, with particular reference to ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, a rare complication of IVF.
With that said, Dr Foong’s clinical interests include sub-fertility and laparoscopic surgery.
