Dr Ho Kok Sun is a general surgeon currently practising at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. He specialises in treating colorectal diseases and has a strong interest in minimally invasive colorectal surgery, advanced therapeutic endoscopy, such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy, and anal diseases like piles and abscesses.Dr Ho regularly performs minimally invasive or keyhole large intestine and rectum surgeries. He has also progressed to perform numerous single keyhole surgeries. He is one of the few surgeons in Singapore accredited to do robotic colorectal surgery.
Dr Ho was formerly a senior consultant surgeon at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). He was also appointed as the director of the Enterostomal Therapy Service, Transanal Ultrasound Lab and Endo-Lap Simulation Centre, and the deputy director of the Endoscopy Centre at SGH. He was also the former president of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons, Singapore. He has also served as the organising chairman of 3 major international colorectal conferences and as the president for the biennial congress of the ASEAN Society of Colorectal Surgeons in 2014.
Dr Ho is currently the president of the ASEAN Society of Colorectal Surgeons, and the vice president in the Singapore-China Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology. He is also a council member at the College of Surgeons in the Academy of Medicine, and is a founding member of the Eurasian Colorectal Technologies Association. In the field of laparoscopic surgery and endoscopy, Dr Ho has conducted more than 20 animal laparoscopic workshops to instruct overseas surgeons. He has also taught medical students and advanced specialty trainees laparoscopic and endoscopic skills using simulation machines.
