About Dr Jiwei Wu
Dr Jiwei Wu received his basic medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 2014. Subsequently, he went on to attain his post-graduate diploma in aesthetic medicine and completed the Masters course in Botulinum Toxin and Fillers under the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM). His interest for aesthetic grew during his dermatology rotation as a Medical Officer. He then undertook his training in aesthetic medicine from the experts from the UK, USA and Korea.
Being a member of AAAM and certified by the Aesthetic Dermatology Education Group (ADEG) and the Dermatology Society of Singapore (DSS) to perform procedures such as lasers, botulinum toxin injections and dermal filler injections, he currently practices at 8 Medical Aesthetic Clinic, Singapore. He has special interest in anti-ageing procedures and non-surgical facelift through the use of dermal fillers and thread lift.

What is the best treatment for hormonal acne? (photo)
It seems like you have inflamed acne with post inflammatory erythema (PIE) and post inflammatory hyper pigmentation (PIH). There are many treatment options for acne and usually a combination approach will give you the best result. Topical cream (retinoid/ antibiotic) Chemical peel Carbon laser Oral medication (antibiotic/ isotretinoin/ birth control pill etc) It is important to control the acne eruption first so as to reduce potential scarring. Speak to a doctor to find out what is suitable for you as the treatments have their pros and cons.
Is it normal to have a breakout after Rejuran Skin Booster treatment?
Hello TH, It is unusual to have a breakout after rejuran treatment. However if you are acne prone and have sensitive skin, any treatment to the face may result in breakout. You may benefit from a short course of oral antibiotics after the treatment if it happens to you again. Speak to your doctor to find out more. All the best!
How do doctors determine the best treatment for acne and acne scars?
Hello Allan, There are so many treatments available right now and ultimately it is down to the type of acne/ acne scars you have and the downtime you can tolerate. The treatment plan should be customised as everyone has different type of scars. Generally I will recommend TCA cross for ice pick scars, Fractional laser/ Microneedling RF for box scars, Subcision with filler for rolling tethered scars and Rejuran microinjection as a supplement to scar treatment. The treatment for active acne depends on the type and severity of the acne.
