My son's umbilical cord was detected near his neck during around 36 weeks. She suggested that I be immediately induced and before I left her room, she told me that looking at my height, I am most likely going to have a c-section which honestly upset me.
When she dilated me, even then she was not empathetic and kept suggesting c-section. She was trying very hard to let me have a natural birth but since I only dilated to 3.5cm she went to do an emergency c-section.
The anaesthetist came in and increased my epidural. Before it took effect, she cut me and asked if I felt anything. I felt her cut me and could see the blood oozing out from the reflection on the lights above me. She freaked out and asked the anaesthetist why could I feel it. He tells her that the epidural takes effect in 11mins but u cut her in 4 mins. Then she tells me since you are so nervous can we put you on full GA.
I didn't have a good experience overall. But during my consultations and all she was patient and I did feel comfortable with her.
I think the responsibility is not there. Inducing pregnancy requires timely monitoring and if it is not, you may have very bad consequences. I feel that at that stage if she cannot commit her time for a patient like me, she should have turn me down in the first appointment and refer to other gynae. Instead, she took me on and put me on clomid for two cycles, which later she give up.
Every cycle is precious to women like me whom age and time is not in their favour. However, after two cycles of trials which fails, she commented that I have to reduce my weight and should try after Dec. I am very disappointment and ask if there is other treatment. She listed all the alternative, which all leads to going for keyhole surgery, taking injection to induce pregnancy etc. And even discourage me, that I will have multiple pregnancies if I proceed without weight management. She feels that I should reduce weight and come back to her.
Back then, I can only recall hearing all her discouraging words. She is so different from the gynae I have seen for 18 years in government hospital; they never failed to understand my position and never fail to encourage me. Note: PCOS is a cycle, and is not easy for patient to reduce weight. I feel that she does not have hearts toward her patient, we are just objects and she cares more about herself. Impatient in giving treatment has led to her jumping to the last resorts.
I am very disappointed with Michele. But I am glad someone else came to my help and I am very very grateful to those who have helped me in times of needs. Those whom want to take her as a normal gynea I guess she can still do well. But those whom wants to take her as a gynea for fertility problem, please think twice.
Dr Lee is really nice. Indeed she does look a little stern but the way she provide her service is very professional. She is always composed and very gentle when she did pap for me.I'm trying to get pregnant and she does gave a lot of good tips on conceiving and she's also an IVF Practitioner.I hope i will get pregnant soon and I know who to look for none other than her as my obstetrician. In addition, the staffs are really amiable and will make you feel comfortable.i would recommend to see her.
