Dr Siow Hua Ming is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in paediatric orthopaedics and in advanced arthroscopic key-hole procedures for the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle Currently, Dr Siow practices at his private clinic at Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre. Prior to his private practice, Dr Siow was a Consultant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Following his graduation from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK in 1996, he attained basic training and then completed specialty training in Surgery (MRCS Edinburgh, 2002).
An avid and passionate educator, Dr Siow actively contributes to medical education. He was previously an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore, where he was in charge of teaching and assessing medical students. He also served as the Associate Programme Director for the Orthopaedic Residency Programme of the National University Health System. He was Assistant Training Director for the Joint Committee for Specialist Training (JCST) in Orthopaedic Surgery. He has published in respected orthopaedic journals and has authored several chapters in orthopaedic textbooks.
Dr Siow’s commitment to his specialty extends beyond his clinic and patients. He is a member of the Singapore Orthopaedic Association and the Singapore Medical Association. He is currently a life member of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association. He is also a member of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS) as well as the European Society of Sports Traumatology Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA).
