About Dr Tony Ho

Education and Training

Dr. Tony Ho is a board-certified eye specialist with 25 years of specialty experience in refractive surgery.

He is an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Royal College of Ophthalmology U.K, and became the first Singapore eye doctor to receive fully accredited sub-specialist eye training in the USA, training at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

He has also received training at the Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Tennant Eye Institute, two of the top eye centres in U.K.

Professional Interests

Dr. Tony Ho helps his patients see clearly, safely through the flapless, blade- less epi-LASIK procedure.

He also has a keen interest in treating patients with the following eye disease:

  • Glaucoma
  • Cataracts
  • Control of myopia progression in children

Personal Statement

Besides publishing numerous scientific papers and presentations, Dr. Ho has also published five books of which The Complete Eye Care Book in 1994 received a National Book Development Council Award and sold out its published run of 8,000 books within a year.

In 1990, Dr. Ho published a land- mark scientific paper describing a method of laser iridotomy for glaucoma management that is now widely employed by doctors around the world as the de-facto standard of iridotomies in dark brown irises.

In Nov 2004, Dr. Ho pioneered epi-LASIK (flapless, bladeless LASIK surgery) in Singapore and the region.

Since 2005, Dr. Tony Ho is also one of the few doctors in Singapore certified to implant both the Artisan Veriscyce and the Star Visian ICL, the two leading FDA approved ICL brands in the market.

Always embracing change and innovation, Dr. Ho is currently a strong advocate of flapless, bladeless laser vision correction, particularly epi-LASIK.
