Dr Wong has obtained his MBBS in NUS, Singapore and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP). He has also gained a fellowship in the Academy of Medicine of Singapore and an accredited dermatologist by the Ministry of Health, Singapore. He underwent Dermatosurgery and Laser Surgery Training in the United Kingdom (UK) from 1998 to 2000 under the China Medical Board Scholarship. He was awarded the Commonwealth Fellowship by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (UK) to conduct research on skin cancers at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, Skin Tumour Laboratory. During his stay in Nation University Hospital (NUH) from 1991 to 2002, Dr Wong has a vast experience in dealing with diverse skin and medical issues.
Currently, he is a visiting specialist to the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Centre and the University Dermatology Clinic in NUH and is active in educating the general public about medical and aesthetic skin issues. Also, he is frequently invited to speak locally and regionally at lectures, conferences, and gives media interviews on medical and aesthetic dermatology.
At the moment, Dr Wong is a practising at Mount Elizabeth Hospital as a Dermatologist. Areas that he specialises in include management and surgery of skin conditions and infections, warts, acne and eczema. Besides specializing in skin cancers, his clinical focus also includes cryosurgery for warts, sunspots and skin growth, as well as the treatment of acne, pigmentation and facial rejuvenation.
Dr Wong has authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications in scientific and medical journals and conference contributions at both national and international meetings.
Dr Wong is fluent and able to converse and hold consultations in Cantonese, English, Hainanese, Hokkien, Mandarin, Teochew.
