After a thread lift, how long do I need to wait to undergo HIFU Thermage?

Doctor's Answers 2

I would recommend that patients wait at least 3 months after thread lift before doing a Thermage or HIFU. That way, you can actually see the final results of your thread lift first. Proceeding with thermage or HIFU after will then have a synergistic effect.

The other reason is that thread lift and HIFU or Thermage are actually both collagen induction procedure. So I would again advise patients to actually have both the procedure (threadlift

and HIFU/Thermage) done with some time apart.

The other reason would be that you do not want to do it too soon as the heat from the procedure would actually cost the suture or the thread to break down much more quickly. Hope this helps!

Can I still get a thread lift if I experience PDO thread rejection?

I have not experienced any PDO thread rejection in my practice. PDO threads are usually free-floating, unanchored threads which may get dislodged, unlike anchored threads. However, if you are worried about the material involved causing the rejection. There are a number of reliable brand threads in Singapore that are made of PCL and PLLA. So you may consider using these instead.

What are the potential benefits and complications of doing both HIFU and thread lift on the same day?

Thread lifting gives immediate results but is minimally invasive and will cause some discomfort and swelling immediately after the procedure. HIFU e. g. Ultherapy is non-invasive and will give gradual lifting results after several months due to deep tightening of the supportive tissues. Immediately after the procedure, some soreness is expected. Both these treatments are complementary and may be done sequentially separated by a period of time (e. g. several weeks or months) to achieve both immediate and long term results.
