After a dental crown procedure, when is it safe to eat normally again?

Doctor's Answers 1

During the initial placement of the temporary crown, you will need to be a bit more careful when you are eating. This is because it is only made of plastic. Thus, it will not be as strong as the actual crown. Avoid eating anything too hard, such as ice or nuts, and anything too sticky, such as caramel or candy.

With that said, normally recommend that patients refrain from eating for at least 45 minutes after cementation of the crown. On the other hand, for aesthetic crowns, the cement is hardened immediately so there is no need to wait before commencing to eat.

How long after a threadlift do I need to wait before I can go for dental treatment such as a tooth implant or dental crown?

Hi there,Generally, you would have to wait for 4 weeks before commencing any dentalprocedure. However, if you still experience discomfort and tightness inthe area where the thread lift was performed, then the dental procedure mayhave to be postponed to a later date (more than 4 weeks) or as reviewed andadvised by your doctor. Hope that helps.
