Are there any risks in getting Rejuran, botox or fillers when on Accutane?

Doctor's Answers 1

The short answer is, it's ok. It's ok to have botox, fillers when you are on Accutane. But you might want to avoid certain things like laser treatment on the skin, fractional lasers, skin lasers, essentially I would avoid or rather you should stop for a bit before getting laser treatment done. But for injectables, they are generally safe, unless your skin is really sensitive, at that point then maybe you may want to wait a bit before getting any of these.

Hi, There are two issues that you have raised that need first to be considered separately then together. A. Bruising after any instrumentation such as injection is a known side-effect that can only be minimized but cannot be totally avoided. The bruising results from leakage of blood into the skin due to injury to the small skin blood vessels from the injection. 1. This side-effect can be aggravated if you are taking blood thinners, painkilllers, gingko nuts or any medication and food that may cause the blood to clot less easily. 2.

What are the risks of getting Rejuran, Botox and fillers when on Roaccutane?

In my practice, I don't find that it is a problem. However I would be cautious if the Isotretioin dosage is excessively high as the skin would be prone to poor healing. I would rather wait for the dose to be about 40-50 mg a week before i commence the above injectables. Just a personal preference, but practices can differ amongst doctors.
