Are there other possible causes for a foot rash besides a fungal infection? (photo)
My wife is 33 years old female. Sh's developed a red rash-like condition for 1 week on her right feet (especially in between the toes) which is itchy and spreading. She was told that it was a fungal infection. I would like to find out if there are any other possible causes for a foot rash.
Thank you for your photo and question. From the photo, it does not look like a fungal infection to me although we can certainly run some tests to check it. It is more likely that this is due to eczema.
Other possibilities would include an allergic contact dermatitis where she is developing the rash due to allergy to something she is coming into contact with. A quick trip to the dermatologist or doctor for appropriate creams should do the trick. Hope your wife feels better soon!
