What can cause blurry, distorted vision after two retina detachment surgeries?

Doctor's Answer

Retinal detachment surgeries are usually considered major surgeries and will take weeks and even months for the patient to have full recovery. Prognosis depends on how early or late the retinal detachment was diagnosed, how early treatment was administered and to what extend the detachment was prior to surgery.

During the recovery stage, patients will notice very gradual improvement of vision and may even feel like the vision is blurry and distorted at the initial stages. It is thus important to work closely with your eye doctor to better understand what the recovery and visual function of the eye will be like.

However, if you notice a sudden deterioration of vision during the recovery stage or any symptoms that deviates from what was discussed and explained by your eye doctor, do flag it up immediately as it could potentially be other eye conditions.
