No. However, if you are talking about different eyes, then yes.

Some patients have a cataract in one eye and short-sightedness in the other eye. You can do cataract surgery in one eye, what we call Anisometropia and then if you want to do LASIK in the other eye, that's ok.

Can cataract surgery and LASIK be done at the same time?

Cataract surgery and LASIK are never performed at the same time on a particular eye. Each has it's own indications, ie reasons for a patient undergoing the procedure. So if a person has a cataract, then they need cataract surgery and not LASIK. If a person does not have a cataract, but wants to reduce their need to wear glasses or contact lenses, then LASIK can be considered as an option. That said, here are some things to consider. 1. Cataract surgery can change an eye's refractive power. By choosing lens implants of a particular power, myopia/hyperopia/astigmatism can be reduced. 2.

Will I be able to have cataract surgery after LASIK?

D2D. Yes, many patients who had LASIK performed when they were younger develop cataracts as they age. They will certainly be able to undergo cataract surgery to improve their vision. However, as LASIK changes the curvature and power of the cornea, conventional biometric measurements of the eye very often lead to inaccurate refractive outcomes for this group of patients after cataract surgery.
