Can severe acne scars be removed completely? (photo)

Doctor's Answer

Hi there,

Your photo is blurred but it looks like you have mainly rolling and box scars. Additionally, it does look quite tethered down as well.

Personally, I would recommend a combination of treatments to release the scars and smoothen them.

These would include subscision, laser skin resurfacing (such as the eCO2) +/- fillers.

Do note that Fillers are not permanent solutions and lasts approximately 9 mths to a year.

Redness is to be expected over the next few days from the treatments and interval between treatments are at least a month apart.

Back to your question, it is not possible to guarantee a 100% removal of these scars with the return of normal skin as the architecture of the skin has already been altered in these scars.

Good results will be in range of 80% improvement.

Hope that helps.

All the best!
