How do Clindamycin, Differin and Fobancort cream (fusidic acid) compare in treating acne?

Doctor's Answer

Clindamycin topical, Differin and other effective treatments are commonly prescribed for acne. While Clindamycin topical is a topical antibiotic, it is effective for treating inflammatory acne.

On the other hand, Topical Differin or Adapalene is more effective in treating acne that is particularly good in clearing comedones on the face. Comedones refer to whiteheads and blackheads which are commonly seen in acne. Clindamycin topical and Differin are also often used in combination to treat acne.

As that said, Fobancort cream is a combination of fusidic acid and topical steroids. This is mainly used for the treatment of infected eczema but is not recommended for acne treatment.
