Discomfort after removal of fibroid – is this normal?Gynaecology
I have written in here before to ask about my fibroids issue. Thank you for previous advice as written in this blog here. Appreciate it. I am writing to ask further question as to my most recent current health situation as felt these few days.
I would like to seek advice as to whether my condition is still considered as “normal” . On 29th May, I had undergone hysteroscopy and d&c. Recently, especially these few days, the slight discomfort feeling at my womb part came back, just almost like the initial feelings when I had the day surgery on the first few days after May 29. There is slight backache and lower abdomen kind of feeling abit strained. Just writing to ask if this is actually okay and acceptable. I felt okay after taking a rest at home by taking a break from my daily activities. Please reply with an advice
Hi, unfortunately I cannot advise via an online platform whether any discomfort post operation is considered “normal and ok”, as there are a host of factors to take into account.
This would include a proper examination, more details of the op and nature of the discomfort – all of which are questions your operating doctor is best placed to answer.
I can, however, advise what I’d do in your shoes. If your discomfort is worrying and persistent, I’d drop a message to the clinic, explaining the situation and requesting for a call back or some advise.
Most doctors are usually happy to reassure patients post-op, as they are familiar with what’s within the realms of “normal” for their patients following the operation; or otherwise, they will get you down for a follow-up appointment a bit sooner, as necessary.
