Does tretinoin cream help to reduce syringomas below my eyes?

Doctor's Answers 2

Thank you for your question! Tretinoin can indeed help improve the syringomas because of their keratolytic (skin peeling) effects. They may not completely resolve, however, and may require prolonged used before any results are visible.

Since the lower eyelids have very thin skin, they might be very dry and sensitive as well. I would recommend starting a lower concentration first, before moving it up as prescribed by your doctor.

All the best!

Yes it does! Some people choose tretinoin cream, some choose adalapene, but both have good effects on syringomas (as a maintenance). But the serious ones should first be treated with ablative lasers, maintained with the creams, and avoid particularly heavy products over the prone areas.

Does Tretinoin cream reduce neck wrinkles?

Hi, Yes, it can help reduce and prevent wrinkles on the neck as well. Probably much cheaper than all your other brand name neck creams too, especially if you have a repeat prescription and pick it up from a pharmacy. Just be sure to use sunscreen as well as it can increase the risk of sun damage. The other risk is skin sensitivity – so watch out for this. To avoid sensitivity, start with a lower concentration such as 0. 025% or 0. 05% to minimize irritation and redness, and apply it in the evenings. If you can work up to a higher percentage, it will generally be more effective.

How to remove syringomas permanently?

Presuming that it is syringoma, I believe you know by now that syringoma is a benign growth from the sweat gland. Did it grow back again after CO2 or it did not improve at all? If it did not reduce at all after laser, you might need to burn it deeper. Although CO2 laser helps to vapourise it, it may regrow again, unfortunately. Some find that the result may last longer if we burn deeper but it also increases the risk of scarring as a result of excessive burnt, especially if you mentioned that you have a lot of it. Microneedling is not useful and there is no point doing it again.
