Does Tretinoin cream reduce neck wrinkles?

Doctor's Answers 2

Hi,

Yes, it can help reduce and prevent wrinkles on the neck as well. Probably much cheaper than all your other brand name neck creams too, especially if you have a repeat prescription and pick it up from a pharmacy.

Just be sure to use sunscreen as well as it can increase the risk of sun damage. The other risk is skin sensitivity – so watch out for this. To avoid sensitivity, start with a lower concentration such as 0.025% or 0.05% to minimize irritation and redness, and apply it in the evenings. If you can work up to a higher percentage, it will generally be more effective.

Also, it generally works best at PREVENTING rather than treating lines on your neck…As your sun damage becomes more apparent, it probably becomes less effective at getting rid of the lines.

Generally if it hasn’t helped in 4-6 months, further use is unlikely to be of added benefit. You may want to consider Laser treatment/Botox/Fillers/Peels at this point. Speak to your doctor/dermatologist about this.

Cheers

Yes it can reduce neck wrinkles, provided they are not very severe and confined to the superficial layer of the skin.

Deeper ones with collagen and fat loss (sunken in) will require fillers as well.

Does tretinoin cream help to reduce syringomas below my eyes?

Yes it does! Some people choose tretinoin cream, some choose adalapene, but both have good effects on syringomas (as a maintenance). But the serious ones should first be treated with ablative lasers, maintained with the creams, and avoid particularly heavy products over the prone areas.

How to use pigmentation creams like hydroquinone and tretinoin correctly?

Hi! I am assuming you are using the modified Kligman's for acne marks/PIH? Modified Kligman's was formulated specifically for treatment of melasma but it is sometimes used for PIH. Do you apply differin to the whole face of just the oily T zone/problematic jawline region? Is your skin sensitive and dry? or oily? I am going to make some assumptions here. I am assuming you are using Differin gel every night to control your acne and the lightening cream for marks. I will also assume that you have normal skin. In that case, you can do the following nightly. 1.
