How effective is the pull out method (withdrawal) during sex as a form of birth control?

The withdrawal method is an extremely unreliable method of birth control as there may be the presence of pre-ejaculate which can also contain sperm. The timing of withdrawal may also be incorrect. A woman in her 40s will still stand a chance of pregnancy as long as she has not undergone menopause yet (though chances are lower compared to women in their 20s or 30s). I encourage you to consider proper, safe and effective birth control methods to prevent an unwanted pregnancy if you are considering birth control methods. What are the risks associated with removing IUDs (intrauterine device) while the patient is pregnant?

Though an intrauterine device (IUD) is an effective contraceptive device, it is still possible to get pregnant. It is rare with an incidence of 1 in 100 women with an IUD and the risk is highest during the 1st year of insertion. If a woman gets pregnant with an IUD, it is important to quickly make an appointment to see a gynaecologist. The reason for this is that an ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy occurring outside the cavity of the uterus) is more likely if an IUD is in place. This is a medical emergency that requires immediate attention.
