It takes roughly about 1 week for the fertilised embryo to travel from the fallopian tubes into the uterine cavity. Afterwards, the fertilised embryo then needs to attach itself to the lining of the womb and this process is called implantation. The lining of the womb is also known as the endometrium.
Meanwhile, the implantation process usually can occur as early as 6 days and as late as 12 days. This is after the process of fertilisation of the embryo in the fallopian tubes .
It is not unusual to have some episodes of vaginal spotting when using the progestogen(Crinone) inserts. They can dry the vaginal skin and cause superficial abrasions which bleed when the pessary is inserted. In addition, some centres also use low-dose aspirin as a supplementary drug to enhance blood flow to the endometrium. These have the effect of thinning the blood and cause minor bleeds which seem to be worse then they actually are. The vaginal bleeds are not necessarily a sign of failed implantation.

The polymer used is of medical-grade as opposed to industrial-grade silicone, and therefore much more biologically inert and safe. The question I often get asked by my patients with regards to breastfeeding are: Will the silicone leak into the breast milk and make it unsafe for my baby? Will engorgement be worse? Will I be able to breastfeed with the implant in place or will the milk supply be affected? The answer to the first question is a DEFINITE NO.
