How can Fraxel laser patients derive optimal results despite a sporadic treatment schedule?

Doctor's Answers 1

Unfortunately, optimal results from fractional lasering can only be derived from regular treatments (4-6 treatments) spaced several weeks to a few months apart.

Results are likely to be suboptimal if treatments are spaced more than 6 months apart especially during initial treatments.

What are the possible effects of doing both Fraxel laser and Dermapen on the same day?

Hi, Both techniques are meant to induce controlled damage to the skin via a fractionated approach. One via laser energy (Fraxel) and the other via mechanical injury (Dermapen). Combining both procedures sequentially especially on the same day may not have any significant complementary benefits and may in fact cause more unwanted side effects. Hence, I do not recommend this combination treatment personally. Hope this helps!

Why does acne scar depth remain the same even after Fraxel laser and subcision treatment?

Hi,For all treatment modalities including Fraxel laser and subcision, failure of clinical response is well recognized despite the use of the right procedure and appropriate treatment parameters. A full assessment by your attending doctor is probably needed to review treatment parameters and to determine if alternative acne scar treatment methods such as scar revision surgery is required for the poorly responsive acne scars. Hope this helps!
