From your description, it appears that the scar is either a keloid or hypertrophic scar.
Treatment options:
1) Steroid injections at correct dose and concentration
2) Non-ablative and ablative fractional lasers
It will be best to provide a picture/ seek a consult with a doctor who has interest and the experience in acne scar treatment.
