How can I get rid of a white coating on my tongue? (photo)Ear, Nose & Throat Dental
I'm 17 years old. I had a white coating on my tongue for about 1 year. I had a previous tongue swab, which tested negative for fungal elements. I've taken Cefurex and Difflam Forte Throat Spray, but still the condition is not improving. How can I get rid of the white coating on my tongue?
The best way to get rid of a white coating is by either brushing your tongue or getting a tongue scraper to scrape it off gently!
These can be found online or at your local pharmacies and look like this
There are many variations so it may take some trial and error to figure out which works the best for you! It is normal to have a slight layer on your tongue due to the food and drinks digested throughout the day which produces that layer of biofilm.
However you are on the right track by wanting to keep your tongue clean so start by getting a simple tongue cleaner or learning to brush your tongue.
When brushing your tongue ensure to flex it when brushing because this prevents a gag reflex as well.
All the best and I hope this helps!
