How can TCM help with stomach discomfort after a UTI?

Doctor's Answers 1

The abdomen is divided into quadrants. If you are feeling abdominal discomfort post-infection, you might be referring to the right lower quadrant as pain arising from UTI may radiate to that area.

TCM will be able to help relieve your discomfort, typically through herbal prescription and/or acupuncture. However, it is crucial for a physician to determine the location and reason before he/she can formulate a treatment plan specifically for you.

I hope it helps and wishing you a speedy recovery!

Warmest regards,

Cancer of the digestive tract is not very common in your age group (36 years). However, there can at times be exceptions, especially if you have a family history of cancer. Perhaps you may need to consult a doctor with the view to a gastroscopy and colonoscopy if the attending doctor is of the opinion that your symptoms are serious.

Why do I get indigestion after eating certain foods, and what should I do next?

The symptoms you describe sound like food intolerance. This is a condition due to the inability to digest and absorb certain food substances. The undigested food substances are metabolized by gut bacteria to produce gases, which in turn cause the symptoms of 'indigestion'. Studies show that dietary modification is the most effective way to improve symptoms. Medication is rarely helpful. The problem is that many patients are not able to identify what food substances they are intolerant to on their own. Further, as t people can become intolerant to foods that they could previously digest easily.
