How do I know if a yellow-green vaginal discharge is due to infection or food supplements and diet?

A yellowish-green colored vaginal discharge does sound like a possible vaginal infection.

The possible types of vaginal infections are: [1]

  • Candidal Vulvovaginitis. Patients suffering from Candidal Vulvovaginitis often observe itching, burning, white discharge and stinging on urination.
  • Bacterial Vaginosis. Patients suffering from Bacterial Vaginosis often observe a fishy vaginal smell and thin, white vaginal discharge.
  • Trichomoniasis. Patients suffering from Trichomoniasis often observe a yellow-green discharge and vaginal irritation

Food supplements or diet are less likely to be the contributing factors.

If you are experiencing such abnormal discharge, I do advise you to see a doctor to get yourself checked and do a test to find out what is the cause of the vaginal infection.
