How do I get rid of bumps under the skin at my forearm area? (photo)

Doctor's Answers 2

Thank you for the question. From the photo, it does appear that you have multiple bumps on nodules on the forearms. These are likely to be due to multiple cysts or lipomas, which are abnormal proliferation of fat tissue.

Some individuals may be genetically prone to developing multiple cysts or lipomas in the skin. The only way to remove the bumps is by surgical excision but is is usually not practical to excise them all.

You may consider doing an excision biopsy of one of the bumps to send it for histological confirmation of the diagnosis.

Do see your dermatologist/doctor to do a proper examination and advise you further on the diagnosis and treatment options.

Hi,

Lumps n Bumps are common occurrences on any part of the body. They are usually benign however they sometimes can be unsightly or cause irritation. There are some syndromes that are associated with multiple cysts/lipoma (collection of fat) if there are many all over your body. They don't naturally disappear on their own and depending yourself they can be left alone if you don't mind them. Just don't scratch or "pick" at them as that may result in infection and/or ulceration.

Excision under local anesthetic is a quick and cheap way of getting rid of them. One should be sent to the lab to be a 100% sure on the exact diagnosis of what they are.

What could be the cause of multiple small white bumps on the arms and chest? (photos)

Thank you for the question. It does seem that these lumps arise from deeper in the skin. The doctor will have to examine and palpate/feel the bumps for a proper assessment. In some cases, a skin biopsy may be needed to confirm the diagnosis. I do think that you should bring your son to see the doctor or dermatologist to be examined to advise you on the proper diagnosis.

How can I remove syringoma/milia under my eyes?

Thanks for sharing your photos with us. This is probably milia and they can be removed easily with a Smartxide CO2 laser. However, it can recur as some of the doctors here have mentioned. A good skin care regime, scrub or peel can help prevent the recurrence. The CO2 laser burns off these milia with minimal scarring and the downtime is usually about 2-3 days depending on each individual. I hope this answers your question. Have a great week ahead and all the best!
