I understand that most HA fillers get reabsorbed by the body naturally over time, whereas Ellanse is a filler that also stimulates collagen. I would like to find out how Ellanse dermal fillers compare against other types of fillers for natural lifting and volume loss? For example, since Ellanse stimulates collagen, will repeated treatments over time result in lasting improvements, as opposed to other fillers whose effects presumably disappear over time as it gets reabsorbed?
Thank you for the question. Ellansé is a hybrid bio-stimulating filler consisting of a short-lasting filler component called CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose) and a long-lasting biostimulator called PCL (polycaprolactone).
When Ellansé is injected into the skin, the CMC provides an immediate lift to volume deficient areas. PCL triggers collagen production in the skin while CMC is rapidly reabsorbed. Biostimulation leads to a long-lasting rejuvenation of between 1-4 years depending on the preparation used. At this point in time, Singapore's Health Science Authority (HSA) has only approved the use of the S and M version which lasts for 1 and 2 years respectively.
In my experience, Ellansé gives very good lift over the cheeks, chin, nose, temples, and forehead. Compared to hyaluronic acid fillers, it has less water retention and compared to pure bio-stimulators like Sculptra, it has more rapid results.
Ultimately, the decision to use any dermal filler depends on the treatment location, desired results, as well as the preferences of the patient and the experience of the doctor in using the product.

Ellanse dermal filler is one of the most powerful fillers for lifting and stimulating collagen production.
Ellanse filler has a much higher dynamic G’ (read as prime) profile when compared to most hyaluronic acid fillers (exceptions being Teosyal Ultradeep, RHA4, Belotero Intense etc) , which is a correlation of how it is able to resist the downward sag and gravitational pull of the facial tissues, retaining the structures in a lifted position.
When injected in the deep fat pads of the sub orbicularis oculi , deep cheek and deep pyriform fat pads , they give an immense lifting power which is quite amazing .
Ellanse contains 30% polycaprolactone microspheres which are proven to stimulate a majority of Type I Collagen (the youthful collagen as compared to Type III which is scar type collagen ) in surrounding tissues where it’s injected. The collagen will make up the 70% of the space that was initially taken up by the CMC gel , 3 - 4 months after injection .
Repeated Ellanse treatments over time will result in the stacking of more and more collagen over time, and the continuous improvement of the patient ‘s facial age , thus giving it the name ‘少女针‘（loosely translated as the Needle of Youth).

Ellansé is a non-hyaluronic acid filler. It is injected into the skin to lift, sculpt and restore lost volume associated with skin aging.
