Doctor's Answer

Thanks for the question.

Both acnevulgaris and acne rosacea can present with pimple like bumps on the face.

Acne rosacea often occus in the middle age adults. There is often associated symptoms of facial redness and flushing. This is often aggravated by sun exposure and with alcohol intake. Fine blood vessels called telangiectasia can be seen more prominently on the face.

Acne vulgaris is the common acne that occurs in adolescents. It tends to occur in teenage years although it can also persist in some people into adulthood. It is also common to get comedones (black and white heads) associated with it.

If in doubt, you can see your doctor or dermatologist for a proper assessment to confirm the diagnosis and for treatment.
