Autommine progesterone dermatitis is a very rare diagnosis. It presents with rashes that are usually cyclical and varies with the mentrual cycle as progesterone levels rise. It can present with hives or wheal and even red patches. Oral sores have been reported. It is believed to be due to the body's autoimmune response to the rising progesterone levels.
The diagnosis is made by a careful history and examination to determine the relationship of the rashes with the menstrual cycle. A prick test to progesterone can be performed and challenging with oral or intramuscular progesterone can be done to provoke or induce the rash.
It is best for to see your doctor or dermatologist and raise your concerns so that a proper assessment can carried out.
