How long does it take before I can resume exercising after LASIK?

Doctor's Answers 1

Yes the post-op is indeed about 2-3 days, after which you will be able to return to work as normal.

Exercise wise, the recommendation to be safe that most doctors would advise is about 1 month. This applies to all sorts of exercises where you may get hit in the eye – ball games, weight lifting, etc. Of course, I’m erring on the side of caution!

Swimming pool water contains significant amounts of chlorine and other chemicals which act as a disinfectant for hygiene purposes as public pools are shared areas. A common side effect of chlorine is that it dries out your skin, hair and eyes, and more so for the eyes if you do not use a pair of swimming googles.
