How long is a breast implant surgery, and how much does breast implant cost in Singapore?

Hi, Breast Augmentation would usually take 1 hour or less (it can be faster if a large incision is used, but I usually keep mine under 3cm. I think the smaller scar is worth the extra effort and time cause it is permanent), you would be able to go back within a few hours after the surgery.

It is important that surgery is done at a MOH approved day surgery centre with laminar air flow to minimize the chance of any contamination. The implant that I been using primarily would be the Motiva Implant.

Motiva is currently a premium breast implant that is only available to a few surgeons in Singapore.

Although it is not FDA approved, it is CE Mark and HSA approved, which is the European and Singapore equivalent of FDA, and it's the only implant in the market that has warranty against Capsular Contracture. Also the Nano- texturing on the implants lowers the risk of Anaplastic Large cell Lymphoma (ALCL).

Motiva has been in the market for 8 years and there are ZERO ALCL cases, as compared to the other implants in the market.

Augmentation with Premium Motiva Implant at a proper facility would cost around SGD $16,000+ GST, and other implants like Mentor start at SGD13,500+ GST.

Do take your time to read and research on the implants and we hope the information has been useful to you!

Breast augmentation is a straightforward procedure which can be performed as a day surgery in any Ambulatory Day Surgery Centre under general anaesthesia. The procedure is completed between 1 to 1.5hrs. There is no inpatient stay involved and typically patients are able to go home 2-3 hrs after the surgery.

Breast augmentation at my clinic, all-inclusive of implants, anaesthetist fees, facility charges and standard medications, starts from $14,000.

I hope this has been helpful!

Breast augmentation with implants takes between 1-2 hours and is done as an outpatient procedure. You will be monitored after the procedure and discharged once you are fully awake.

The total cost for the procedure varies depending on the type of implants and where the surgery is done. The total cost starts from $11,000 excluding GST.

Are there any side effects such as loss of sensation after breast augmentation?

Sensory loss in the breast or more specifically, the nipple-areolar, complex is an uncommon complication of breast augmentation, occurring in less than 1% of simple breast augmentation. This is more associated with excessively large implants, poor breast pocket dissection and excessive retraction, and the use of surgical incisions around the areolar to place the implant in. I typically place my implants through a tiny incision in the fold on the underside of the breast.

Which breast implant is best for petite Asian women?

I have tried all implants available in Singapore and some other brands that are not available here too when I did my fellowship in the UK. My current favourite is Motiva. I like the technology behind it. The information is freely available on the internet. One of the concerns my patients have raised to me is the lack of FDA approval. However Motiva Implants® have been approved for use in more than 60 other countries, including the UK, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Japan,Australia, South Korea AND SINGAPORE.
