How much do skin boosters cost in Singapore?

Doctor's Answers 2

You are correct, there is indeed a wide range of prices for skinboosters. In general, Skinboosters can range from $200/ml to $800/ml.

The following factors affect pricing:

1. Quality of the Skinbooster

- Skinboosters are traditionally pure hyaluronic acid that is injected intradermally or subdermally. The first generation skinboosters with pure hyaluronic acid can cost between $250 to $500/ml.

- Newer generations of skinbooster also include antioxidants for greater anti-aging effects (Teosyal Redensity 1, Stylage Hydromax). These are more expensive. The newer generation skinboosters with added antioxidants can cost between $450 to $600/ml.

- Although not considered a skinbooster, it is worth mentioning Rejuran or PDRN. It consists of salmon DNA that is also used in similar fashion for more anti-aging and regenerative effects. These are even more expensive and cost between $500 to $1200 per treatment.

2. Quantity of the Skinbooster - do clarify with your doctor/clinic on the volume of skinbooster being used.

I would consider these factors before deciding on doing skinboosters and justifying its cost:

1. Doctor experience. Does the doctor provide a full consult and detailed analysis of your problem? Are other solutions offered for your concern that may be more cost friendly? Majority of my patients who ask for skin boosters usually find that I offer something a more comprehensive or targeted solution.

2. Quantity and brand. Good raw materials are important to get good results. High quality hyaluronic acid has multiple benefits for the skin. A large surface area that requires treatment may then need more product which will add to the cost.

3. Skill and expertise. Skinboosters should be done with a manual technique for best results and less side effects. This is more time consuming and slightly more technically challenging to perform. Good materials would be wasted if not done with a freehand technique, as most of it would not be placed in the correct layer.

Hope this helps!

Good questions! I agree with Dr Chua’s reply on the pros and cons of Fractional CO2 lasers versus Infini RF. In addition, I would like to address your question on the ideal length of time between subcision and Infini RF treatments. The ideal interval between treatments is 4-6 weeks. This is to allow for adequate skin recovery. Hope that this answers your questions!

Is PRP injection available for acne scarring in Singapore?

PRP at the present moment is not available in Singapore. It does help with acne scarring though, and you might have to go to neighbouring countries to do the treatment (including Malaysia). Having said that, you can consider Rejuran/skin boosters/microneedling that can help in a similar fashion. Your 2nd question on which is better — it depends on the severity and type of scars. But usually Fractional laser is the backbone of laser therapy. So consult your doctor early to discuss the available options.
