Thanks for your question. This is certainly something that concerns a lot of people when considering their options.
While I am not a surgeon, I do know that the costs of an operation will vary according to the following:
- If you are within the public hospital system it will go up if you move from being a subsidised, to private patient and depending on the ward type you select.
- Private hospitals are usually considerably more expensive than public institutions
- What you require during the operation - more complex procedures and more expensive equipment usage will usually incur greater costs
Ultimately where you have an operation depends on
- Where you are comfortable being seen
- You finances
- Whether you have heath insurance
- What you need to have done (some centres may provide more specialised services than others)
