How safe is Rejuran Healer and who is suitable for it?Aesthetic Medicine Dermal Fillers
I would like to understand how safe Rejuran Healer is? Some websites state that the long term effects of Rejuran Healer is not well documented, and it is not US FDA approved.
In addition, who is and isn’t suitable for Rejuran Healer? For example, are people with acne-prone skin or closed comedones suitable for Rejuran?
Rejuran Healer is one of the newer Korean beauty crazes that has hit Singapore, known especially among those familiar with aesthetic treatments.
Though popularized by the Koreans, it has actually been used in other countries, such as Europe, since the 2000s (Plinest, manufactured by an Italian bio-pharmaceutical company), with clinical research stretching even to the past 40 years.
The principal ingredient is polynucleotide (PN) derived from salmon germ cell, which essentially is the building block of our DNA. The main effects are anti-inflammatory and regenerative. As such, PN has been used in other aspects of medicine, such as in orthopaedics, gynaecology, and dermatology.
Yes, I would agree with you that long-term safety in aesthetic medicine has not been completely established, but studies so far have been encouraging without any major side effects. Adverse effects have mainly been limited to minor temporary ones, such as mild pain and bruising. Currently, Rejuran Healer is approved by the South Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and the Singapore Health Sciences Authority.
If your main problem is acne-prone skin and closed comedones, I would not personally recommend Rejuran Healer as the first line of treatment. Depending on the severity of the acne, medicated creams or oral medications, or even laser treatments would be preferable.
That being said, one of the effects of Rejuran Healer is sebum reduction, balancing the oil and moisture of the skin. If you have tried the main acne treatments with adverse effects, Rejuran Healer can be considered as one of the alternatives. It can also be combined with Botox to further reduce sebum and pore size, or combined with steroids for active acne lesions.
Generally, Rejuran Healer can be done for most skin types. So far, I have only turned away those who report a severe allergy to seafood. For those blessed with fairly good skin, Rejuran Healer can be used as a preventative strategy to slow down the manifestations of ageing skin. Used as a recovery treatment, Rejuran can be beneficial for those with dry skin, thinning skin, open pores, fine lines, or uneven skin tone.
However, results do require patience as there are some who do not see a visual improvement after a single session. Regeneration and healing at the cellular level takes time, and 3-4 sessions, each spaced 3-4 weeks apart, are recommended for an optimal result. The other thing to consider is the downtime. Be it injected manually or with machines, there are small needle marks and even weals or bumps which are more obvious for the first day or so. By the second or third day, most can return to normal activities with some makeup coverage if preferred.
Hope this has helped answer your queries.
