How to remove syringomas permanently?

Doctor's Answers 2

Presuming that it is syringoma, I believe you know by now that syringoma is a benign growth from the sweat gland. Did it grow back again after CO2 or it did not improve at all?

If it did not reduce at all after laser, you might need to burn it deeper. Although CO2 laser helps to vapourise it, it may regrow again, unfortunately.

Some find that the result may last longer if we burn deeper but it also increases the risk of scarring as a result of excessive burnt, especially if you mentioned that you have a lot of it.

Microneedling is not useful and there is no point doing it again.

Have a proper assessment to be sure that it is syringoma.

In the meantime, have a great weekend and keep smiling!

Elias

This must be really troubling for you - seeing no improvement despite multiple sessions of co2 laser and microneedling.

Syringomas can be removed with CO2 lasers. When performed by a skilled doctor, there will be improvement after CO2 lasers. Usually, more than 1 session might be needed to ensure removal. However, it might regrow back.

Unfortunately, microneedling is the wrong treatment for syringoma removal.

Please seek an expert for more medical advice on this issue!

Hope that this helps!

How effective is fractional Co2 laser vs Infini RF for acne scars?

Good questions! I agree with Dr Chua’s reply on the pros and cons of Fractional CO2 lasers versus Infini RF. In addition, I would like to address your question on the ideal length of time between subcision and Infini RF treatments. The ideal interval between treatments is 4-6 weeks. This is to allow for adequate skin recovery. Hope that this answers your questions!

Is PRP injection available for acne scarring in Singapore?

PRP at the present moment is not available in Singapore. It does help with acne scarring though, and you might have to go to neighbouring countries to do the treatment (including Malaysia). Having said that, you can consider Rejuran/skin boosters/microneedling that can help in a similar fashion. Your 2nd question on which is better — it depends on the severity and type of scars. But usually Fractional laser is the backbone of laser therapy. So consult your doctor early to discuss the available options.
