Hi Thanu

There is always a reason for your body to develop a fever. The important thing is to find out what is the cause of the fever and treat the underlying cause, rather than just the fever itself.

A very high fever on its own can also cause other problems like brain damage (especially in very young children). That is why I recommend seeing a doctor and let the doctor examine you to find out what is the reason you are having the fever, and treat you accordingly. He may even have to run some blood tests if he suspects diseases like Dengue or Zika.

Back to your question, to lower your fever, there are some over the counter medications like Panadol (Paracetamol) or Neurofen (Ibuprofen). Make sure you have no allergies before ingesting any medications. If the fever still don't subside with the medications, can consider tepid sponging or, worse case scenario, a cold shower.

But please see a doctor if you have a high fever. He will find out the underlying problem and treat it accordingly.

Cheers.
