Here are some common signs that can help you to identify an ear piercing infection:
- You will start to notice localized redness on the skin around the ear piercing.
- You will experience some swelling, tenderness and a burning sensation.
- In some cases, you might also feel the urge to scratch it as it does get itchy.
- Patients also do experience yellow pus discharge.
To treat the infection, antibiotics will be required. For milder infections, your doctor will prescribe you topical antibiotics.
