Is it possible to completely prevent seizures from recurring?
My 17 year old girl was diagnosed with epileptic seizures 4 months ago. She experiences fits and seizures every week. She has been started on Keppra, and the doctors are currently adjusting her dosage. I would like to know whether it is possible to completely prevent seizures from recurring?
Not always, every epilepsy patient is different. Sometimes seizures are easy to control, and sonetimes it is not possible to have total control. In general, about 2/3 of people with generalized seizures can be controlled with a single drug. Even after a period of good control, there is no absolute guarantee that the seizures will not recur in future.
