Is Rejuran Healer as effective as it's made out to be?

Doctor's Answers 3

Rejuran is a brand of polynucleotides (PN) which are injected in a similar technique to skin boosters. Polynucleotides have been shown in multiple clinical studies to have medical benefits ranging from improvement of hair loss to wound healing.

Their cosmetic use has been recent and is also backed by clinical data that shows improved hydration, decrease in inflammation, improved skin tone and texture. It also improves the hydration effect of skinboosters when used in combination.

I am an active user of both Rejuran and various types of skinboosters, and my personal thoughts are as follows:

1. Rejuran is a more all rounded treatment. It can do things like improve dark eye circles which skinboosters usually do not.
2. Rejuran shows faster and better results in my patients.
3. The manual technique of injecting either is preferred by experts worldwide because of its precision and superior results.

Hope this helps!

ditto to the points made by Dr Lee and Dr Chua.

My only addition to this is that while clinical and histological studies do show *objective* benefits, the translation to visible results can vary.

Used in then long run, it is definitely a good maintenance procedure, but if you have doubts on it's likely visible benefits to your skin, it would definitely be best that you speak personally with your doctor - just to avoid any misalignment of expectations.

Happy CNY!

PN and PDRN have been shown, albeit in small studies to help in:

1) iImprovement of Alopecia Areata (autoimmune localised balding)

2) Wound healing

3) Pigmentation through the reduction in melanocyte (pigment cell) activity

4) Improvement in some skin sensitivity conditions like eczema

Anecdotal experience in my own practice tells me that the latter 3 are true.

I know that some clinics seem to promote it as a magical panacea for all kinds of skin scarring etc, but if you are a patient looking for good results through minimally invasive means, the appropriate use of PDRN and PN can be a good option to try! You should contact your doctor to discuss the benefits.

What is the best treatment for pigmentation and depressed acne scars in Singapore? Do topical creams for acne scars work?

1)acne scar with crater, firstly, need to assess if the skin has healed well before a gentle subcision of the the crater scar. This is followed by a resurfacing, best by a fractional resurfacing laser. Otherwise a spot chemical peel will do well too. often multiple sessions will be needed for both laser and chemical peels. 2)pigmentation it can be many types of pigmentation, from freckles to Post-inflammatory pigmentation(PIH) to moles. pigment laser work well for freckles, but there is down time for 3-5days. PIH can be treated with nonablative laser and creams.

Is the Mosaic or Fraxel laser better for treating acne scars and pigmentation?

Acne scars and uneven skin texture can be improved using Mosaic or Fraxel whereas pigmentation is best treated using either Q-switched ND:Yag lasers or the newer Picosecond lasers. Mosaic vs Fraxel: Similarities Both lasers use fractional technology. The laser beams create heated columns of “thermal damage” throughout the treated tissue. This results in alteration of the collagen structure in the skin’s deeper layers which creates conditions that are ideal for collagen regeneration and increased elasticity. This results in shallower scars.
