The key differences between using self cartilage and foreign material such as a silicone implant are:

Infection risk

Minimal with the use of cartilage; approx 1% with the use of silicone implant

Extrusion (implant coming out) risk

No risk with the use of cartilage, approximately 1-2% with the use of silicone implant depending on technique- cosmetic appearance: cartilage generally gives a more natural softer appearance; silicone implant gives a more defined appearance-cartilage requires a donor site (ear/rib) but silicone implant does not

Can I still get HA nose fillers after a rhinoplasty?

Congratulations on your rhinoplasty and I am glad that you are happy with the results. Before you proceed with the HA nose fillers, you should check back in with your rhinoplasty surgeon to see if he has any other solutions for you. Fortunately, one of the advantages of a total autologous rhinoplasty, of which I am a strong advocate of, is that in comparison with an implant rhinoplasty, the nasal dorsum is made of your own tissue. Hence, there is a lower risk of the HA filler injection causing an infection if done properly, and no risk of rejection of the nasal implant or capsular contracture.

How long should I wait before doing a correction after getting rhinoplasty done?

I’m sorry to hear that. Appropriate timing for surgical correction largely depends on what you are not satisfied with. Very often, post-surgical swelling can distort actual results in the early stage of recovery and you need to give it time to settle down. Some of the potential concerns that could occur which may be corrected in the early period of weeks to months include: 1. Notching of the nostril/ asymmetry of the nostrils 2. Large deviations of the nose 3. Hematoma in the nose 4.
