What non-surgical options for skin cyst removal are there in Singapore?

Doctor's Answers 1

Hi,

From the photo, you may not have a true cyst but an acne cyst which is an inflammatory pseudocyst. A true cyst has a wall and hence only surgical removal is effected.

The key principle in managing an inflammatory pseudocyst is to reduce inflammation. Therapies to reduce inflammation include the use of oral antibiotics and intralesional low dose steroids.

Do see a doctor for a closer examination so that the diagnosis can be definitively made so that the appropriate therapy may be given.

What are effective treatment options to get rid of a sunspot?

Hi, Topical lightening creams are a good way to start. Some degree of lightening will be achieved if used appropriately over a period of 3-6 months. If that fails to give you the desired results, consider pigment laser treatment as this is effective in removing sunspots. You may wish to read more about this option which has been well covered in other parts of this forum.
