What are the treatments available to remove or reduce the appearance of enlarged facial oil glands (sebaceous hyperplasia)?

Doctor's Answers 1

Hi,

Sebaceaous hyplerplasias tend to occur in adults above the age of 40 and are usually found on the forehead and cheeks.

From the appearance of your skin lesions, you may have papular scars instead of sebaceous hyperplasias. Papular scars on the chin respond well to fractional CO2 lasering.

What are value-for-money options available to address facial pigmentation and how much do they cost?

Hi, Value-for-money options for addressing facial pigmentation focus on sun-protection and the use of proven lightening creams. The various effective lightening creams have been discussed in depth in the relevant section. However, there is a limit to how much lightening creams may lighten your pigmentation. For more difficult pigmentation that requires procedures to give more significant response, please discuss with your preferred aesthetic doctor your preferred options after a clear understanding of what they are, what they can achieve and what are the possible side-effects.

How long does it take for the effects of jaw botox to wear off if the results are unsatisfactory and I wish to regain my old facial structure?

Hi, While the effect of jaw Botox in reducing the contraction power of the jaw muscles will wear off in 4-6 months, the effect on the facial appearance may take several months more to normalize as the reduced muscle bulk will take more time to get back to its normal size. Hope this helps!
