Sorry to hear about your breakouts. Firstly, I would like to stress that a severe acne breakout is a medical problem and should be seen and treated by a doctor. Many GP/dermatologist/aesthetic clinics in Singapore are able to treat acne with appropriate medications and skincare. If your skin is truly affected by a fungus, you will need medical-grade products e.g. ketoconazole shampoo/wash (commonly known as Nizoral in Singapore). Your doctor will be able to advise you on how often to use this and potential side effects e.g. skin dryness/sensitivity etc.

As for topical over-the-counter products and washes, they may be used as maintenance therapy but I generally do not use them to treat active acne. Products with exfoliating agents such as AHA/BHA/PHAs e.g. salicylic acid (BHA), gluconolactone (PHA), or tea tree oil (anti-microbial properties) may be useful.
