What are effective treatment options for keratosis pilaris?
I'm a 25 years old female, with severe keratosis pilaris on my arms and hands. I visited a doctor years back and was prescribed with lanate cream. But the condition did not improve, and even worsened over the years. May I ask what are other treatment options, as this has been affecting my confidence level. Thanks.
Hi, thank you for the question. Keratosis pilaris is a condition where there are prominent clogged follicles, commonly over the arms and thighs and back.
It is difficult to completely get rid of keratosis pilaris. Topical moisutizers containing urea, salicycylic acid, lactic acid or tretinoin cream can be used.
These treatments help to smoothen and unclog the bumps but complete eradication is difficult.
