Clogged milk ducts are a very common occurrence with breastfeeding mothers and tend to be a huge problem due to the pain and difficulties it brings with potential infection of the milk ducts.
Some tips to unclog your milk ducts can include:
- Using a breast pump to pump out any residual milk if the baby is unable to latch properly
- Breastfeeding at more regular intervals
- Changing your breastfeeding position to improve the latch of the baby
- Using a warm cloth to apply warm compress to reduce swelling and pain
- Using cold cabbage compress to reduce inflammation and swelling for engorged breasts
- Massaging the milk ducts towards the nipple to help with unclogging it
Hope this helps.
